The Director of IT serves as a strategic leader and valued partner, applying professional technical knowledge to strengthen the ministry’s digital infrastructure. In this role, you will oversee the systems and technologies that enable Greater IMPACT Church to function as a 100% online, Christ-centered community.
Scope of Services
The Director of IT will provide high-level professional expertise to ensure the stability and security of the ministry's digital environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Server Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of all servers required to host and sustain our 100% online ministry platforms.
- Cyber Security Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of robust cyber security protocols to protect the ministry’s infrastructure and the data of our faith-filled community.
- Infrastructure Strengthening: Apply professional knowledge to evaluate and strengthen the technical systems that facilitate the church’s religious and charitable operations.
- Strategic Technical Support: Ensure all digital platforms remain reliable for sharing the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ.
- Mission-Driven Solutions: Implement and manage technology solutions that directly serve the mission of the church and support its growth as an online community.
- Technical Consultation: Serve as the primary technical partner to church leadership, offering professional insights to improve ministry infrastructure.
Professional Qualifications
To effectively serve as the Director of IT, the Volunteer Ministry Worker should possess the following professional background and skills:
- Executive Leadership Experience: Demonstrated high-level leadership experience managing IT departments, technical teams, or large-scale digital projects.
- Strategic & Critical Thinking: Exceptional ability to analyze complex challenges and develop long-term technology roadmaps that align with a 100% online ministry mission.
- Data Privacy & Compliance Certifications: Possession of industry-standard certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIPP/US, or CompTIA Security+) reflecting a professional mastery of data protection laws and global privacy standards.
- Full-Cycle Software Development: Proficiency in developing, deploying, and maintaining internal software solutions designed to enhance and automate ministry operations.
- Cyber Security Leadership: Advanced experience in leading cyber security initiatives to protect the ministry's digital assets and the sensitive data of the faith-filled community.
- Operational Optimization: A proven track record of identifying operational inefficiencies and building technical tools to streamline church workflows and engagement.
- Technical Infrastructure Expertise: Professional-grade knowledge in server administration and cloud-based infrastructure management within a mission-driven environment.
- Mission-First Innovation: The ability to apply professional knowledge to create technical solutions that directly support the sharing of the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ.
- Independent Professional Status: The capacity to contribute high-level expertise toward religious and charitable purposes while maintaining independent status under the FLSA.
