    Description

    Digital Literacy Through Podcasting

Supporting youth through media, emotional wellness, and digital empowerment

We’ve partnered with 7 schools to launch our Digital Literacy Through Podcasting program — a creative initiative that blends digital literacy with mental health awareness. As we grow, we’re looking for a volunteer therapist to help us ensure our curriculum and approach are emotionally safe, supportive, and trauma-informed.

We’re not mental health professionals ourselves, which is why we’re seeking a Therapist Advisor to guide us. This is a low-pressure, flexible role — we’ll work around your schedule, and you’ll only take on what feels manageable.

    Ways You Might Support Us

    • Review or advise on curriculum content to ensure it’s trauma-informed and youth-appropriate.
    • Suggest ways to integrate mental health themes (e.g., self-expression, emotional regulation, identity).
    • Help us create safe spaces for students to share and reflect.
    • Offer guidance on how facilitators can respond to sensitive topics.
    • Recommend mental health resources or referral pathways for schools.
    • Join occasional check-ins to offer feedback or insight.

    Optional Emotional Support

In past podcast sessions, we’ve seen students become emotionally distressed while sharing personal stories. If you're open to it, we’d love to offer students 15–20 minutes of emotional support when needed — not formal therapy, but a moment to help them regulate and cope with what they’re feeling. This would be entirely optional and based on your availability.

We welcome student therapists who are seeking hours, as long as they are actively supervised by a licensed therapist advisor who oversees their involvement and ensures all support provided to students is safe, ethical, and appropriate.

    Time Commitment

Flexible and remote-friendly. We’ll work with your schedule and boundaries. You don’t need to do everything listed — we’ll tailor the role to your comfort and capacity.

    Ideal For Someone Who

    • Is a licensed therapist, counselor, or mental health professional.
    • Cares about youth empowerment, equity, and creative education.
    • Wants to support a grassroots initiative without pressure or overload.
    • Values trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches.

    Why This Matters

We’re in a startup phase, building momentum with school partners while our Executive Director focuses on securing funding. Your insight will help us build a program that not only teaches digital skills, but also supports students’ emotional well-being — especially in moments when they need help expressing or processing what they’re feeling.
