    Description

    Court Appointed Special Advocate

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteers advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Help change a child’s story by becoming a CASA/GAL Volunteer! CASA/GAL volunteers are the voice for children in Juvenile Court who have been abused and neglected. These children are often living outside of their home with a relative or in foster care. Our volunteers visit with the children on their case monthly and gather information about how the children are doing. CASA/GAL volunteers make recommendations in court regarding what is in the children’s best interest and ensure their needs are being met.

Providing compassionate, individualized attention to help each child find a safe, permanent home is a CASA/GAL volunteer's sole purpose. CASA/GAL volunteers offer neutral recommendations for what is in the child's best interest. The result is that a child has a voice in court and is placed into a safe, loving home where they can thrive.
