    Description

    Intuit Best Friend Foundation is seeking unpaid, independent volunteer Board Members to support the ethical governance and mission stewardship of our organization.

    This is a non-clinical, governance-focused volunteer role. Board Members do not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, or operational services of any kind. The role is limited to oversight, guidance, and formal decision-making in accordance with nonprofit governance principles.

    About the Board role:

    • Participate in periodic Board meetings (held online)
    • Review and vote on key governance matters, policies, and strategic direction
    • Support ethical oversight, transparency, and organizational independence
    • Provide high-level guidance aligned with the Foundation’s mission and values
    • We are in the process of seeking 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS and are committed to establishing a diverse and independent Board of Directors to ensure the highest standards of public accountability.

    This role does NOT involve:

    • Day-to-day operations
    • Direct service delivery
    • Clinical, therapeutic, or counseling activities
    • Regular weekly volunteer work

    Time commitment:

    • Low and infrequent
    • Board meetings are expected to occur monthly or quarterly, depending on organizational needs
    • Additional time limited to preparation and review of materials prior to meetings

    Compensation:

    • This is an entirely unpaid, non-compensated, volunteer Board position
    • Board Members serve in an independent capacity and do not receive wages, stipends, or benefits

    Who we’re looking for:

    • Individuals interested in nonprofit governance, ethics, or mission oversight
    • People who value independence, accountability, and non-clinical approaches to well-being
    • Prior board experience is welcome but not required

    Intuit Best Friend Foundation is a California-based public benefit nonprofit corporation with a global, online-oriented mission. We are currently building our inaugural Board of Directors and welcome applicants from diverse professional and geographic backgrounds.
