Remove blackberries in the Clearing at Paradise Valley Conservation Area with staff and volunteers! Himalayan blackberry has formed a bramble near the entrance to the clearing. Clearing out this bramble will be the first of many future events targeting invasive plants throughout the Paradise Valley Conservation Area. This park is incredibly biodiverse and protects water quality in the Little Bear Creek watershed. Removing invasive plants will help preserve its biodiversity and generally improve forest health for good water quality.
Please wear long sleeves and long pants that you don't mind getting dirty, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring a full water bottle and a snack. Hand tools and gloves will be provided, but you may bring your own if you wish. Remember to bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.
There are several areas of Paradise Valley with root rot which affects the stability of the trees during high winds. This event will be rescheduled if wind gusts are expected to be 25 mph or above. If the event is canceled, registrants will receive an email in advance.
