    This is an unpaid, educational internship with two concentrations: Policy or Operations.

    • The position does not offer wages, stipends, benefits, or a promise of employment upon completion. However, we are committed to fostering longitudinal & sustainable professional and personal development in our personnel.
    • The position is not a conventional volunteer experience; it is an an intensive and structured educational program.

    WHO WE ARE

    Kindfulness is a 501(c)3 nonprofit social enterprise in Columbus, OH, led by persons with lived experience to alleviate illnesses, mortality, & exploitation in 5 communities with reduced social mobility: the unhoused, trafficked, prisoners, LGBT+, & veterans.

    WHAT WE DO

    Using smart technology, mobile outreach, organizational collaboration, & service navigation, we address 3 domains that affect individual and community wellbeing & social mobility through reducing referral leakage & improving coalition cost-effectiveness: (1) systems/policy determinants, (2) resources access, & (3) self-advocacy skills .

    POSITION ROLES

    1. We offer intensive professional and educational development, professional networking, and collaboration with your academic program to receive school credits pending their approval.
    2. The Internship is hybrid, i.e., in-person & virtual.
    3. The position is accepted on a rolling basis with flexible start/end dates

    All Interns will work on these tasks:

    1. Grant writing
    2. Fundraising
    3. Direct services to our core communities: the unhoused, trafficked, prisoners, LGBT+, and military veterans
    4. Network and coordinate collaboration with organizations to optimize collective cost-effectiveness

    Policy Interns focus on aligning our operation & intervention in shifting priorities in public and private policies that affect the communities we serve, including:

    1. the Services-Research-Policy Consortium
    2. policy engagement & oversight
    3. lobbyist & advocates training.

    Operation Interns focus on:

    1. business development for the social enterprise aspect of operation
    2. administrative management
    3. marketing
    4. technological development related to the Oasis Box (a smart tech-based vending network), Service Navigation, and Digital Vault.
