    Description

    The Women’s Shelter Jewelry Project is seeking an experienced, organized volunteer event manager to coordinate our annual jewelry fundraiser, taking place November 5–7, 2026, in Seattle.

    Working with our established Annual Sale Guide, steering committee, and volunteer team leads, the Event Manager will:

    • Establish a promotional calendar beginning approximately three months before the sale.
      • Maintain the planning schedule and track important deadlines.
      • Identify additional community partners, media outlets, neighborhood organizations, and promotional opportunities.
    • Develop and implement a marketing plan designed to increase attendance, sales, donations, and community awareness.
    • Ensure timely preparation and distribution of email announcements, flyers, social-media posts, community-calendar listings, and volunteer communications.
    • Organize agenda and lead regular planning meetings with core sale planning team
    • Identify potential problems and help develop solutions.
    • Provide regular progress reports to the steering committee.
    • Assist with updating the Annual Sale Guide after the event.

    The ideal candidate has experience coordinating fundraising, nonprofit, community, retail, or volunteer-led events. They should be highly organized, comfortable leading meetings, and skilled at working respectfully with volunteers.

    Workload will vary during the engagement and is expected to increase during the final six to eight weeks before the event. Candidates should describe their anticipated hours, availability and meeting schedule.
