One Red Crosser Mifflin County
Details
Description
Communities across Pennsylvania depend on the American Red Cross for disaster relief, blood donations, and safety education. Join us as a One Red Cross representative to provide vital services and programming to build resilience in your local community.
What to Expect
In this dynamic role, you will serve as a liaison between the Red Cross and your community to make a lasting impact. All training is free, and you will receive support from a team of Red Crossers. This position combines multiple volunteer roles, including:
§Blood Donor Ambassador
Attend at least one blood drive every three months to help register and engage with donors at the refreshment table. Each blood drive lasts about six hours.
§Disaster Action Team Member
Disasters can happen at any time. Be generally available to respond to local home fires and other emergencies. You’ll be trained in all necessary skills to provide comfort and care to neighbors who are displaced from their homes. In rural areas, expect to respond to home fires about once a month. The average disaster response requires two to four hours of volunteering.
§Community Education and Outreach
Attend events and activities in your community to raise awareness around home fire safety and emergency preparedness.
