Position: Board Member (Fundraising & Development Specialist)
Location: Remote / New York City Area

Purpose
Brick Road Life Skills Corporation guides vulnerable urban youth through life choices by connecting them with credible mentors who have walked similar paths. We are seeking a fundraising professional to join our Board of Directors. This individual will architect and lead our financial sustainability strategy, transforming our established 12-week youth resilience curriculum and 5-week blue-collar empowerment initiative into fully funded, scalable operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Design and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan targeting private foundations, corporate sponsorships, and individual major gifts.
- Committee Leadership: Form and chair the Board Development Committee to oversee all organizational resource mobilization.
- Donor Relations: Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with key institutional funders and corporate partners in the NYC urban development and workforce sectors.
- Grant Oversight: Provide strategic direction for grant identification, writing, and compliance, ensuring alignment with corporate metrics.
- Governance: Attend quarterly board meetings, review financial health indicators, and maintain strict fiduciary oversight of the organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or philanthropic corporate social responsibility (CSR).
- Demonstrated track record of securing five-figure grants or corporate sponsorships.
- Existing network within NYC youth services, workforce development, or philanthropic foundations is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to the mission of empowering urban youth through lived-experience mentorship.
Time and Financial Commitment
- Time: Standard commitment of 4 to 6 hours per month, including committee work and monthly governance meetings.
- Financial ("Give or Get"): A mandatory annual commitment of $1,000. This baseline financial expectation can be met through a personal contribution (Give) or raised through your professional network (Get).
