    Description

    VITAS Bereavement Volunteers contact the designated primary caregiver following the death of a VITAS patient. Volunteers are trained to ask supportive questions and listen. BTAP(Bereavement Telephone Assurance Program) callers make supportive outreach phone calls as a remote Administrative opportunity. Ideal positions for College students studying the field of healthcare, nursing, social work, psychology, grief, bereavement, or pastoral care. Retired individuals in these fields or those who have experience with loss make outstanding volunteers for this program. Minimal computer involvement to enter information. Due to HIPAA and Compliance, a Florida Level II background check is required. This is done at no cost to the volunteer. Training program provided.
