    About the Role

    The Individual Giving & Major Gifts Officer focuses on cultivating and growing relationships with individual donors to secure both major gifts and recurring contributions. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role develops personalized giving strategies, engages donors through outreach and stewardship, and ensures donors feel connected to the organization’s mission and impact. This role plays a critical part in building a strong, sustainable donor base and expanding philanthropic support for the organization’s programs. This is a fully remote, volunteer position with flexible hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing individual donors, including both recurring supporters and major gift prospects.
    • Manage the organization’s donor database, ensuring accurate tracking of donor interactions, contributions, and engagement history.
    • Support the development and implementation of individual giving strategies, including recurring donor programs and major gift cultivation efforts.
    • Assist with donor communications, including outreach, acknowledgments, stewardship updates, and engagement materials that highlight the organization’s impact.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to align individual giving and major gift strategies with organizational priorities, funding goals, and development campaigns.

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with donor management software.
    • Interest in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
    • Organized and able to manage multiple donor communications.
    • Passion for faith-based mission and values of Sisters in Christ.
    • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
