South West Florida Horse Rescue (SWFHR) is always in need of well-mannered, caring, and responsible people within our community. No experience is required. "Horse Volunteers" must be willing to "get dirty", considering our main services are outside all day every day.
Some areas of need/interest are:
- Horse Keepers: Feeding, cleaning stalls & paddocks, filling & cleaning water troughs, and other tasks that need to be completed daily;
- Handlers & Groomers: Grooming, hoof care, and socialization;
- Equine ER: Basic medical attendance to equines within the limits of education;
- Facility Maintenance: Barn maintenance, fence checks, fence building, and repairs, weed control, tree maintenance, hazard watch, general maintenance and repairs, and other typical activities;
- Fundraising: Event help & organization, outreach, special projects, and independent event-ing;
- Mechanics: Servicing the machine fleet for the Horse Volunteers and the FacMaint Volunteers is a strong need for our overall operations.
