    Education Attorney/Legal Team/Trademark Attorney

    Position Description

    Under the supervision of the Founder/Executive Director and/or office manager or another staff member, you will provide overall assistance and initiatives to the Education/Legal team of NHEG. All delegated tasks must be conducted online under the supervision of New Heights Educational Group staff or at the NHEG office or other location designated and agreed upon by all parties. Some of the job requirements include the following: Must be a self-starter and a great communicator as well as detail oriented and must be a team player. The Education Attorney needs to implement Ohio law, legal and communications strategies. Other states might be represented from time to time.

    Job Summary: The Education Attorney/Legal team/Trademark Law at New Heights Educational Group will advocate for student/families rights, organize paperwork, provide legal opinions, advocate for NHEG, directions on protecting brands, suggest ideas, handle data, and assist with internal and external processes.

    Advice on creating an LLC or other for profit business to support NHEG nonprofit initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research information needed when helping NHEG advocate for others
    • Provide legal advice when dealing with charter and public schools
    • Send notifications related to work and due date reminders
    • Edit notices for grammar, outline, and content
    • Plan agendas and organize meetings, activities, and events
    • Gather applicants’ data and maintain volunteer records
    • Post summaries of accomplished activities
    • Assemble and evaluate data, and make proposals for growth and development

    Qualifications:

    • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school;
    • A passing score on the bar exam given by the state in which the lawyer wishes to practice law;
    • A screening of the prospective;
    • Prior experience or education in Communications, Education Law , Disability Law, Childcare services, Bullying in public schools, student rights, Laws of Ohio and federal government laws.

    • Ability to research, brainstorm, edit, and proofread topics
    • Knowledge of media affairs and digital media strategies
    • Command of grammar, literature, and punctuation concepts
    • Ability to adjust to changing work conditions
    • Effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds
    • Working independently and also as a team member
    • Ability to multitask, recognize urgencies and meet targets
    • Demonstrate ability to solve problems
    • Communicate with school officials, or draft paperwork, court paperwork if needed.
