    Description

    Philly Be Safe (PBS) is a growing community nonprofit empowering youth and neighborhoods one program, one person, one block at a time. We’re looking for a passionate Volunteer Grant Writer to help strengthen our mission by researching and securing funding opportunities for our youth programs, anti-bullying events, and community engagement initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify local and national grant opportunities
    • Draft and edit compelling proposals and letters of intent
    • Maintain a small grants tracking system and submission calendar
    • Collaborate with the Philly Be Safe leadership team to align funding needs with active projects
    • Help refine messaging and impact language for donors and sponsors

    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Experience in nonprofit or community-based grant writing (preferred but not required)
    • Detail-oriented and organized
    • Passionate about youth empowerment, education, and anti-violence work

    Commitment:

    Flexible hours (3–5 hours/week). Remote or hybrid options available.

    Training and ongoing support provided.
