    Are you passionate about global affairs, human rights, and social justice? Want to contribute to a youth-led collective shedding light on critical underreported issues? Spheres of Influence is currently recruiting for various volunteer positions. This is an ideal opportunity for students, recent graduates, and young professionals to gain a meaningful experience in the field of international relations and journalism. Please note that we are entirely volunteer-based and that applicants must be within the youth age range (typically 18–35), in alignment with our organization’s identity as youth-led.

    About the Role

    As the People and Culture Coordinator, you will be responsible for shaping and maintaining a collaborative and supportive organizational culture. You will lead recruitment and onboarding processes, conduct volunteer experience surveys, and plan professional development and team-building events for our diverse team of volunteers and contributors. This is a volunteer and fully remote position, requiring 5-7 hours per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain strategies that foster an inclusive and positive organizational culture.
    • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within all organizational practices.
    • Work closely with leadership to ensure the culture aligns with the mission and values of Spheres of Influence.
    • Lead the recruitment and selection process for new volunteers, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
    • Oversee onboarding to ensure volunteers feel integrated into the organization and understand their roles.
    • Build and nurture a diverse talent pool to support the organization’s growth and mission.
    • Develop and distribute annual organization-wide volunteer experience surveys to gather feedback and insights.
    • Analyze survey results to identify opportunities for improving the volunteer experience.
    • Serve as the primary contact for volunteer relations and work to enhance overall engagement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Journalism, or related fields (preferred but not required).
    • Experience in HR, people operations, or volunteer management.
    • Experience leading hiring and onboarding processes, particularly in volunteer-driven organizations.
    • Strong background in organizing professional development and team-building activities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage volunteers effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives.
    • A passion for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
