Description
Core Eligibility Criteria
- Cultural Connection: Demonstrate a strong understanding of, and passion for, African heritage and the history of the African diaspora.
- Community Presence: Active involvement in local diaspora-led initiatives, youth organizations, or educational establishments within your respective cities.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to share cultural stories authentically and confidently.
- Youth Mentorship: Passionate about mentoring children.
Desired Skills & Qualities
- Youth Mentorship: Experience in youth development or education is highly preferred, as the role involves guiding the next generation.
- Cultural Intelligence: The ability to navigate African cultural differences with patience, empathy, and adaptability.
- Leadership Potential: A proven track record of mobilizing networks or implementing community-based projects.
- Skills and Talent: Ability to craft (produce artwork, weave, bead making) acting, dancing, storytelling, is a plus.
Ambassador Responsibilities
- Promote Awareness: Organize local talks or workshops to celebrate the creativity and history of Africa.
- Promote Program Enrollment: Evangelize Culture Bridge to the youth in the community, schools and churches.
- Facilitate Dialogue: Create safe spaces for diaspora members to share perspectives and reconnect with their roots.
- Advocate for Inclusivity: Support initiatives that use culture as a tool for social inclusion and identity development.
- Collaborate Regionally: Partner with other ambassadors across the specified regions to share best practices and expand the program's impact.
