    Description

Communications Fellow (Volunteer) — Apps for Good

    About Apps for Good

Apps for Good is a free, fully online program of Teamup, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Each semester, teams of college and high school students build software applications addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals — real tools designed for real users, mentored by industry professionals.

    The Role

We're looking for a Communications Fellow to tell the story of Apps for Good. You'll shape how we show up on LinkedIn and other channels, document our student teams' work from kickoff through demo day, and help build awareness of project-based learning for social impact.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and publish 1 to 2 LinkedIn posts per week
    • Create written, photo, and video content covering team milestones, mentor spotlights, and program updates
    • Coordinate with student teams and program leadership to surface stories worth telling
    • Track engagement and refine content strategy over the semester

    Qualifications

    • Strong written communication; comfortable adapting tone for different audiences
    • Familiarity with LinkedIn content best practices
    • Basic graphic design skills (Canva is fine)
    • Self-directed — we'll set goals together, but you'll own execution
    • Interest in education, technology, or nonprofit work

    Best Fit

Undergraduate or recent graduate in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. Strong writers from other backgrounds are also welcome.

    Time Commitment

5 to 7 hours per week, one semester, fully remote within the US. Option to renew.

    What You Get

A real portfolio of campaign work, a professional reference from program leadership at Texas A&M, and Teamup.
