This is not a conventional volunteer listing with a fixed job description. Instead, we invite you to design your own role—one that reflects your academic background, professional skills, and career aspirations—while making a meaningful impact on patients in need of organ transplants, and fits with your OPT F1 requirements.
We are a mission-driven organization operating MatchingDonors.com, the nation’s leading peer-to-peer organ transplant platform, along with related health and fundraising websites. We need talented, creative, and driven volunteers who can help us grow our reach in ways that align with their unique capabilities.
Who Should Apply
We are looking for eligible OPT F-1 students currently authorized for Optional Practical Training (OPT) who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week. This opportunity is ideal for students who want to:

This role is self-directed. You bring the proposal; make sure that it something that qualifies as an acceptable OPT F1 for you, we provide the mission, the platform, and the support.
OPT & CPT Compliance Requirements
All volunteer activities must comply with U.S. immigration regulations governing F-1 student work authorization. Please review the following requirements carefully with your Designated School Official (DSO) or International Student Advisor before applying:
- Your volunteer role must be directly related to your field of study as listed on your I-20
- You must maintain your required weekly hours (minimum 20 hrs/week for OPT)
- This is an unpaid volunteer position—please confirm eligibility with your International Services Office
- You are responsible for ensuring this opportunity meets your institution’s OPT authorization requirements. Check with your school’s office that oversees OPT F1 students.

Areas Where We Need Help
While your role is self-defined, we have identified the following high-priority areas where volunteer contributions will have the greatest impact. You may propose a role in one or more of these areas:
- Organ Transplant Patient & Donor Outreach
- Develop strategies to increase the number of patients needing transplants who register on MatchingDonors.com
- Create campaigns to recruit potential living organ donors to register on the platform
- Design outreach to transplant centers, patient advocacy groups, and healthcare networks
- Charitable Asset Donations
- Identify and cultivate donors willing to contribute Real Estate, Vehicles (Cars, Boats, RVs, Planes), Stocks, Collectibles, and other assets to MatchingDonors.com
- Develop marketing or outreach strategies targeting high-net-worth donors, estate planners, or asset holders
- Propose and execute campaigns or partnerships that generate donated asset leads
- Advertising & Sponsorship Sales
- Recruit advertisers and sponsors for our health-focused websites:

- MatchingDonors.com
- Identify relevant advertisers in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, or wellness industries
- Develop outreach templates, media kits, or advertising proposals
How to Propose Your Role
We do not ask you to apply for a fixed position. Instead, we ask you to submit a short volunteer proposal that includes:
- Your name, university, major, and OPT/CPT authorization dates
- A brief description of your education and professional experience
- The area(s) above where you would like to contribute
- A description of the specific role or project you propose to undertake
- How your proposed work is directly related to your field of study
- Your availability and proposed weekly hour commitment (minimum 20 hrs/week)
Send your interest by applying for this position. We will review proposals on a rolling basis and respond within 5 business days. If your proposal is accepted by us, then you will just need your school to make sure that it qualifies for your OPT F1 status.
