    Description

    Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is a non-profit organization that believes that every New Yorker deserves to know home in NYC. S:US works with communities and individuals in every corner of the city and on Long Island to make sure every New Yorker has the chance to find home. Because home is more than a roof. Home is stability, safety, community, and a sense of belonging. And the opportunity to find home is the right of every New Yorker.

    162nd is a permanent supportive housing program which has 126 units for people who are previously homeless and/or struggling with mental health challenges. They’re now looking to start a Zumba class! This total-body cardio and aerobic workout would give residents a fun and engaging way to get active. They are looking for a Zumba instructor that can teach once a week in the evenings for aproximately 10 participants.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach a Zumba class on a weekly basis to 10 participants

    Required Skills

    • Zumba Certification

    Because volunteers will be working with confidential information, they are required to undergo background checks and fingerprinting. They will be invited to complete a volunteer application and interview before being on boarded. Please contact Volunteer@sus.org if you have any questions.
