    Description

Help Amplify Disability & Blind Advocacy

    About The Modest Foundation

The Modest Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting disabled individuals, with a strong focus on the blind community. Our work centers on accessibility, advocacy, and creating resources that empower people to live more independent and connected lives.

We believe thoughtful digital storytelling can drive real awareness and impact—and that’s where you come in.

    About the Role

We’re looking for a Social Media Volunteer who wants to use creativity and communication skills to support disability advocacy. This is a fully remote, low-time-commitment role designed to fit alongside work, school, or other responsibilities.

You won’t be expected to manage everything. Instead, you’ll contribute consistently and meaningfully, focusing on 1–2 social platforms based on your interests and strengths.

    What You’ll Do

    • Create and schedule engaging social media posts (with guidance and collaboration)
    • Help highlight our mission, stories, events, and initiatives
    • Support promotion of our Podcast Vision project and other campaigns
    • Experiment with content ideas and observe what resonates with our audience
    • Collaborate with a small, mission-driven team that values accessibility and inclusion

Who This Role Is Great For

    • Students or early-career professionals building nonprofit or advocacy experience
    • Content creators or social media enthusiasts who want to use their skills for good
    • Professionals looking to volunteer a few hours a month with real impact
    • Anyone passionate about disability advocacy, especially in support of the blind community

You do not need to be a social media expert. Curiosity, reliability, and care for the mission matter most.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience in nonprofit social media and digital advocacy
    • Portfolio-ready work with real-world impact
    • Flexible hours with a realistic monthly commitment
    • Direct collaboration with a purpose-driven team
    • The chance to contribute to accessibility and inclusion in a meaningful way

    Requirements

    • Interest in social media, storytelling, or digital engagement
    • Reliable communication and ability to work independently
    • Willingness to attend a short virtual orientation
    • Completion of a standard background check

    Location

This is a fully remote volunteer role, open to volunteers regardless of location.

    Ready to Apply?

If you care about accessibility, believe in using social media for good, and want to make a difference without a heavy time commitment, we’d love to hear from you.
