Founding Board Member (Volunteer) – American Civic Power

Overview

American Civic Power is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building civic education tools and technology to help everyday people understand and engage with their local and state government. We're recruiting founding board members to help guide strategy and governance as we grow.

Responsibilities

• Attend four board meetings per year covering budget approval, strategic direction, and governance oversight
• Contribute to strategic decisions as a founding member of the board
• Help build the organization's credibility, network, and reach

Compensation & Time Commitment

This is a volunteer position — unpaid, four meetings a year.

Qualifications

Open to candidates from any background who care about civic engagement, government transparency, and democratic participation. Experience in nonprofit governance, law, fundraising, communications, or public policy is a plus, but not required.
