    Description

    Native Pollinator Planting

Join Green Trust Alliance for a native pollinator garden installation for the appiary at Broadmead Retirement Community! Volunteers will help plant a variety of nectar producing native plants adjacent to the resident apiary to support the bees. All skill levels welcome!

Please note that this is an active bee hive and there is a chance of bee stings. This event is not appropriate for those with bee allergies.

Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Tools, gloves, water and snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own as well.

We have smothered vegetation for two ~250 square foot garden plots. We will be moving wood chips and planting an assortment of native flowering plants and grasses.
