    Heartland volunteers offer support, companionship, and practical, compassionate help to people nearing the end of life and those who support them. Volunteers help in numerous ways, such as:

    • Reading, talking to, playing games with, or providing a comforting touch for patients
    • Prepare and set up meals
    • Providing light housekeeping (washing dishes, doing laundry, vacuuming, yard work, etc.)
    • Playing or singing soothing music
