About Pets Help the Heart Heal

Pets Help the Heart Heal is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the bond between people and animals while promoting emotional well-being, literacy, and community connection. Through programs like Reading with Pets, Wellness with Pets, and community outreach events, we inspire compassion, confidence, and healing for youth and families.

    Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and creative Fundraising Volunteer to help us expand our reach and impact. The ideal volunteer will support the development and execution of fundraising activities that sustain and grow our community programs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit development, community engagement, or marketing who wants to make a difference in the lives of families and pets.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with planning and implementing fundraising campaigns (e.g., Giving Tuesday, anniversary events, sponsorship drives).
    • Research potential donors, corporate partners, and grant opportunities.
    • Draft donor communications, fundraising appeals, and thank-you messages.
    • Help organize small fundraising events (virtual or in-person).
    • Track fundraising progress and support donor stewardship efforts.

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
    • Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
    • Familiarity with online fundraising platforms (e.g., GoFundMe, PayPal Giving Fund, or similar) is a plus.
    • Passion for animals, community service, and mental health or youth development causes.

    Benefits:

    • Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
    • Build your portfolio and expand your professional network.
    • Make a tangible impact in your community by helping youth and families thrive through pet-assisted programs.
