Bilingual Volunteer Opportunity for Hospice!

The Hillsborough area is a melting pot of different cultures and demographics, this means that our hospice patients reflect that diversity! A good amount of our patients do not speak English - on top of that, as someone grows older even if they speak English as a second language they may begin to revert to their native language. This can often times lead to complications and further alienation as things progress - and that is where our bilingual volunteers come in!

Being able to connect to someone with their native language makes a world of difference, and can bring the quietest patient out of their shell! While Español is the top language barrier we encounter in this field, we continually bring on patients from every corner of the world. As a volunteer with our organization you can expect to spend heartwarming moments and develop fond relationships with our patients as they go through their end of life journey.

Patient facing volunteers do not provide medical care in any capacity. Volunteers do not lift, bathe, groom, feed, medicate or anything of that nature.
