    Description

Help Connect Life-Saving Support to Vulnerable Children in Nigeria

Remote Volunteer Opportunity: Help Connect Life-Saving Support to Vulnerable Children in Nigeria

Thousands of children in remote communities across Nigeria are battling tuberculosis (TB) and other serious health challenges. While many are receiving TB medication, their recovery is threatened by a lack of proper nutrition, as their families struggle with extreme poverty.

Through the Centre for HIV/AIDS and STD Research (CHISTRE), we are providing support to vulnerable children and their families. However, more than 1,000 children still urgently need nutritional assistance, treatment support, and hope for a healthier future.

We are inviting remote volunteers from anywhere in the world to join this humanitarian effort. You can contribute from the comfort of your home by:

    • Connecting us with philanthropists, donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
    • Introducing us to grant-making organizations and funding opportunities.
    • Sharing our story within your professional and social networks.
    • Supporting online fundraising and awareness campaigns.
    • Helping identify strategic partnerships that can expand our impact.

You do not need medical experience to volunteer. A single introduction or referral could help provide life-saving nutrition and healthcare support to children who desperately need it.

If you are passionate about making a difference and would like to help connect resources to vulnerable children, we would be honored to speak with you and share the realities on the ground.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

As a remote volunteer, your role is to help CHISTRE connect vulnerable children affected by TB with people and organizations that can provide support.

      1. Identify potential donors, foundations, companies, faith-based organisations, and philanthropists within your network.
      2. Introduce CHISTRE to individuals or organisations that may be interested in supporting children's nutrition and healthcare.
      3. Share CHISTRE's project information through email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
      4. Search for grant, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities and forward relevant information to the CHISTRE team.
      5. Arrange or facilitate virtual introductions and meetings with potential supporters.
      6. Advocate for improved nutrition and treatment support for children affected by TB and other health challenges. Community volunteers have been shown to play important roles in TB awareness, case identification, and linkage to support services.
      7. Submit a brief monthly report outlining contacts made, opportunities identified, and referrals provided.

Expected Commitment: 1–3 hours per week, working remotely from any location.

Goal: Help mobilize resources and partnerships to provide nutritional and treatment support to more than 1,000 vulnerable children in Nigeria.
