Host an assistance-dog-in-training in your home for 2 weeks!
Our dogs spend 8 months in training with carefully chosen inmate handlers at Rochester Federal Medical Center.
While in the training program, the dogs leave the prison and go to homes of volunteers for 2-Week Home Stays, in order to maintain good house manners and get exposed to as many social and public situations as possible.
Volunteers will pick up and drop off the dogs at Rochester Rochester Federal Medical Center.
Can Do Canines provides knowledgeable training staff to support you, all of the dog food, and vet care.
By helping host a future assistance dog in your home, you are enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. These dogs will grow up to bring their people more freedom, independence and peace of mind.
Plus, you get to snuggle with a life-changing dog!
Thank you so much for your interest in becoming a 2 Week Home Stay Host for Can Do Canines!
