The HEAL Project is a food systems education nonprofit in Half Moon Bay, California, which teaches youth where their food comes from and why it matters. If you are interested in sustainability, gardening, and connecting with food and nature, volunteering at The HEAL Project is the activity for you!
Volunteers participate in a variety of activities including planting, harvesting, and caring for a variety of vegetable, herb, fruit, and flower crops, preparing beds for planting, and other various upkeep tasks needed to support the farm. There are also opportunities to support vending at the farmers market and maintain farm site infrastructure. Tasks and schedule may be worked out based on your interests and and availability.
We especially love to cultivate relationships with volunteers who are interested in being part of our community long-term. Some volunteers move into leadership roles, like helping staff our Community Farm Days and other group events on the farm.
Our farm is tucked behind a beautiful residential community in El Granada, and we try hard to be good neighbors. If you’re visiting the farm, please park your vehicle at the public park at 300 Bridgeport Drive and walk north to the farm’s main entrance at the end of Bridgeport. Should you need accommodation, please contact us.
Please complete this brief Volunteer Application, and our team will reach out to you promptly to schedule an orientation!
