This role will help promote our programs, classes, events, volunteer opportunities, and community impact across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media channels.

This volunteer may also help support future TikTok and Instagram content, including short-form video or reel-style content, if they are comfortable creating or assisting with that type of media. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys communications, storytelling, content creation, social media planning, and helping a mission-driven nonprofit reach more people in the community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Help manage and support Triceratops Technology Resources’ LinkedIn and Facebook pages
    • Assist with social media planning, content calendars, posting schedules, and marketing strategy
    • Create or support posts, captions, graphics, flyers, event announcements, and program updates
    • Help promote digital skills classes, e-recycling events, workshops, volunteer opportunities, and community programs
    • Support outreach to local community members, nonprofit partners, volunteers, and supporters
    • Help develop clear, consistent messaging that reflects the organization’s mission and values
    • Assist with basic marketing campaigns for programs, events, classes, and community initiatives
    • Help gather stories, testimonials, photos, and impact highlights when appropriate
    • Support basic engagement, such as responding to comments or helping leadership identify follow-up needs
    • Track simple social media or marketing activity, such as post performance, engagement, and outreach ideas
    • Help explore opportunities for TikTok and Instagram content, including reels or short videos, if comfortable
    • Follow privacy, consent, and confidentiality guidelines when using photos, names, stories, or participant information

    Helpful Skills and Experience

    • Social media, marketing, communications, outreach, or content creation experience
    • Comfortable using or learning platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
    • Strong written communication and editing skills
    • Ability to create clear, welcoming, and mission-aligned content
    • Comfortable creating simple graphics or flyers using Canva or similar tools
    • Basic understanding of social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement
    • Comfortable taking photos, collecting stories, or helping capture program/event highlights
    • Willingness or comfort with creating short-form video/reel content is helpful but not required
    • Organized, reliable, and able to follow through on posting or project timelines
    • Respectful of privacy, consent, and confidentiality when sharing community stories or images

    Ideal Volunteer

This role may be a good fit for someone who enjoys social media, storytelling, marketing, community outreach, and creative communication. The ideal volunteer is comfortable helping a nonprofit build visibility, share its mission, promote events and programs, and connect with local community members and partners.

Prior experience with social media management, marketing, communications, nonprofit outreach, content creation, photography, video content, Canva, or community engagement is helpful, but not required if the volunteer is willing to learn and work with guidance.
