Reading Tutor Volunteer — Frederick Douglass Elementary School
Details
Description
OYC Miami is seeking reading tutors to support our elementary students, especially students in 2nd and 3rd grade who need additional reading support.
Many of our students benefit from one-on-one or small-group reading time with caring adults and older students. Volunteers will spend time reading with students, helping them practice fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence.
This is a meaningful opportunity for high school students, teachers, tutors, college students, professionals, retirees, and community members who can donate at least 40 minutes of their time each week to help a child grow as a reader.
