    Description

About the Role The FACTS Initiative is seeking strategic, relationship-driven professionals to join our Funding & Development Committee.

Please note: This is strictly an advisory and governance role, not an operational staff position. You will not be expected to execute daily grant writing or manage day-to-day fundraising operations. Instead, you will work collaboratively with the committee to offer high-level guidance, review fundraising policies, and provide strategic recommendations to ensure our long-term financial health.

Serving on a committee is an excellent way to use your professional skills for community impact. For volunteers interested in long-term leadership, committee service is also a great pathway to future roles on our Board of Directors!

What You Will Do (Governance & Oversight)

    • Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with the committee to develop and implement short-term and long-term fundraising strategies (including individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and foundations).
    • Donor Relations & Stewardship: Provide strategic oversight for the cultivation of strong relationships with current and prospective donors. Help guide donor recognition programs to ensure supporters are properly acknowledged.
    • Grant & Sponsorship Oversight: Provide high-level guidance for grant-seeking efforts, ensuring that pursued funding sources align with organizational priorities and do not detract from the mission.
    • Policy, Compliance & Best Practices: Help structure policies and guidelines for fundraising to ensure all activities comply with legal standards, tax regulations, and ethical guidelines.
    • Collaborative Advisement: Assist the committee lead (the Funding Officer) in tracking fundraising targets and communicating significant observations, achievements, and challenges to the Board of Directors.

    Who We Are Looking For

    • Professionals with proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or grant writing (preferably within a nonprofit setting).
    • Strategic thinkers with a strong understanding of diverse nonprofit funding sources (grants, individual donors, corporate sponsorships).
    • Excellent communicators capable of clearly articulating fundraising goals and advocating for the organization's mission.
    • Collaborative individuals with a strong grasp of the legal and ethical standards required in nonprofit fundraising.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 1 to 2 hours per week.
    • Attendance and active participation in regular committee meetings.
    • Occasional additional time may be required during major fundraising campaigns, events, or critical grant submission deadlines.

Why Join Us? The Funding & Development Committee is essential to the financial health and sustainability of The FACTS Initiative. By guiding our fundraising strategies and helping us build relationships with key partners, you will directly ensure our organization has the resources needed to provide vital, trauma-informed mental health care to vulnerable children and families in our community.
