Vigil Volunteers Offer Comfort and Companionship During Final Hours (North KC)

Ascend Hospice vigil volunteers offer gift of time and companionship to patients and families experiencing the final hours.

Vigil volunteers are valuable volunteers that can just be present with the patient, provide reassurance, or even hold a hand. These volunteers learn through experience the need for companionship either for the patient or the family or both during their final journey here on earth.

Our vigil volunteers provide the support and physical presence that patients and family’s needs. These volunteers can do that by Being a calm presence, Sitting together, Talking and listening, Shared silence, Healing touch through aromatherapy, playing inspirational music.
