    Description

Can you spare 1 hour a week to visit or call an older adult? Become a Friendly Visiting volunteer!

Queens Community House is seeking volunteers for our Friendly Visiting Program!

QCH's Friendly Visiting Program pairs homebound older adults with caring volunteers for weekly visits, fostering meaningful connections and reducing isolation and loneliness in our community. Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and much more!

    Volunteer Requirements:

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Commit to at least 6 months of volunteering
    • Complete a background check
    • Provide 2 non-familial references
