    Description

The Village League is a youth development nonprofit dedicated to using tennis, mentorship, and life skills programming to help young people build confidence, discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of purpose.

Guided by our motto, “It takes a village to raise a Champion,” we create opportunities for young people to grow on and off the court through tennis, mentorship, and meaningful community engagement.

We are building relationships with organizations, businesses, and community partners that share our interest in supporting youth development and expanding access to tennis.

    Position Overview

The Village League is seeking a personable, resourceful, and organized Volunteer Community Organizer to help identify and connect with brands, businesses, and potential partners for upcoming events and programs.

Working with the Founder and Executive Director, you will help expand our network of potential sponsors, product partners, community collaborators, and event supporters. You will research prospective partners, initiate outreach, communicate partnership opportunities, and help cultivate relationships that support our programming and events.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in community engagement, brand partnerships, event planning, public relations, or nonprofit development to gain hands-on experience while contributing to a growing youth development organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research brands, companies, local businesses, and organizations that align with The Village League’s mission and upcoming events.
    • Identify potential partners in areas such as sports, athletic apparel, wellness, fitness, hospitality, food and beverage, and lifestyle.
    • Reach out to prospective partners through email, professional networking platforms, and other appropriate communication channels.
    • Introduce The Village League and communicate opportunities for collaboration, event participation, product contributions, and sponsorship support.
    • Assist with drafting outreach emails, partnership proposals, and follow-up communications.
    • Maintain an organized database of prospective partners, contact information, outreach activity, and responses.
    • Follow up professionally with prospective partners and help coordinate introductory meetings.
    • Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify event needs and partnership opportunities.
    • Support relationship management before and after events, including thank-you messages and partner recognition.
    • Track outreach progress and provide regular updates on prospective partnerships and opportunities.

All sponsorship commitments, financial requests, and formal partnership agreements will be reviewed and approved by organizational leadership.

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Confidence initiating professional conversations and building relationships.
    • Strong research, organization, and follow-up skills.
    • Professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating with organizational leadership.
    • Interest in community engagement, brand partnerships, events, sports, wellness, or nonprofit development.
    • Commitment to The Village League’s mission and youth development.

    Preferred, but not required:

    • Experience in sales, business development, public relations, event planning, marketing, or fundraising.
    • Familiarity with professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn.
    • Experience researching companies, identifying decision-makers, or conducting outreach.
    • Familiarity with spreadsheets, contact databases, or customer relationship management tools.

We welcome students, recent graduates, career changers, and professionals interested in applying their skills to meaningful community work.

    Commitment Details

This is a flexible, part-time volunteer opportunity. The organizer may work remotely and coordinate with organizational leadership on outreach priorities, upcoming events, and partnership goals.

We anticipate a commitment of approximately 3–5 hours per week, with a mutually agreed-upon schedule. Consistent communication, thoughtful outreach, and reliable follow-through are essential.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience in brand outreach and partnership development.
    • Opportunities to build professional communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
    • Exposure to nonprofit operations, event planning, and community engagement.
    • Experience researching prospective partners and supporting collaboration opportunities.
    • The opportunity to contribute ideas and build relationships that help expand youth programming.
    • A meaningful way to use your professional skills to support the next generation.
