Farm Volunteers Support OhmS Beginning Farmers Education

Description
OhmS learning farm is 5-acres of veggies, herbs and flowers as a classroom for people in crisis to experience horticulture therapy as post-trauma intervention. Additionally, beginning farmers use our fields to learn how to transition their own operations to regenerative farming.
Connect with farmers learning to grow fresh food, sustain our food bank outreach and amplify our goal to feed our neighbors!
OhmS VITaaMIN (Vocational Intensive Training Advancing Agriculture Ministry) seeks volunteers eager to connect in nature, working the ground, tending the orchard, and working our farmers market event booths to support local food access. Green thumb? Great! Never been in the dirt? Don't worry, we will get you in the trenches at your pace. We encourage all faiths, all backgrounds, all skill levels to participate.
Volunteer Responsibilities May Include:
- Farming daily duties (sowing seeds, transplanting, watering, weeding, havesting)
- Field preparation, Greenhouse maintenance (season opening/clean-up, flipping beds)
- Machine & Tool maintenance (mechanics, organization, detailing)
- Groundskeeping (pathways, shared spaces, display gardens)
- Community Outreach (hosting events, market booths, social media content)
- Regenerative Farming lessons (assist mentors while they are sharing sustainable methods)
What We’re Looking For:
- You enjoy the heat and don't mind getting dirty
- You adapt to flying solo or working as part of a team
- You contribute kindness and joy to a positive, inclusive community space
- You are willing to learn, no gardening experience required—training and guidance provided

Schedule: Flexible shifts available on weekdays and/or weekends. Commitment level can be adjusted to your availability. Please complete virtual volunteer orientation (30 minutes) prior to attending to be sure this project is a fit for you.
Location: Farm, Greenhouse, Churchyard and virtual (marketing/promotion support)
