    About The Knowledge Exchange (TKE)

The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to delivering innovative, community-based learning experiences that support academic growth, creativity, and social-emotional development.

Our Dungeons & Dragons enrichment programs go beyond gameplay—they help participants build confidence, communication skills, and meaningful social connections.

🐉 Ready to Be a Dungeon Master for Good?

We’re looking for volunteer D&D Instructors (Dungeon Masters) to lead small-group campaigns this summer.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who:

    • Loves storytelling and improv
    • Wants to give back to the community
    • Is interested in education, youth work, or mental health-informed spaces

You lead the adventure—we provide everything else.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead a 10-week D&D campaign (1 session per week, ~3–4 hours)
    • Facilitate a group of 4–6 players (youth or adults)
    • Guide collaborative storytelling and gameplay
    • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
    • Support positive social interaction and teamwork

    Why This Matters

At TKE, D&D is used as a tool to support:

    • Social-emotional learning (SEL)
    • Confidence and communication
    • Creative expression
    • Inclusive, neurodivergent-friendly spaces

Your role as a DM helps create a space where participants feel seen, supported, and empowered.

    What We Provide

    • All materials (books, dice, minis, maps, etc.)
    • Pre-built campaigns and session structure
    • Training and ongoing support
    • Pre-formed groups (no recruiting needed)

    What You Gain

    • Hands-on experience in facilitation, teaching, and leadership
    • Volunteer/service hours (great for resumes or school requirements)
    • A strong reference from a nonprofit organization
    • Experience in trauma-informed and SEL-based programming
    • The chance to make a real impact in your community

    ✅ Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons (5e preferred)
    • DM experience preferred but not required
    • Experience working with youth or groups is a plus
    • Patient, reliable, and adaptable
    • Comfortable supporting individuals with different abilities

    Requirements:

    • 18+ years old
    • Reliable transportation
    • Ability to pass a background check

    Location

In-person sessions in the Fredericksburg area
