    Description

    Are you passionate about storytelling, social impact, and clean energy? Twende Solar is seeking a Communications and marketing Volunteer to support our mission of expanding energy access through community-driven solar projects. This is an excellent opportunity to apply and cultivate relevant professional skills while helping us amplify our message, grow our digital presence, and share the powerful stories of the communities we partner with around the world.

    About Twende Solar

    Twende Solar partners with schools and community organizations in regions with limited or unreliable electricity to bring sustainable, locally rooted solar solutions where they are needed most. We believe in community partnerships, equitable energy access, and supporting local leadership in every project we do.

    Role Overview

    The Communications & Storytelling Volunteer will support Twende Solar’s online presence through social media content, newsletters, and campaign development and support ongoing communications strategy. This role is ideal for students, early-career professionals, or seasoned communicators looking to use their skills for impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with content creation for Twende Solar’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and monthly newsletter
    • Help expand audience engagement and support day-to-day posting
    • Contribute to Twende’s broader marketing and communications strategy
    • Collaborate on campaigns that highlight energy access, equity, and community impact
    • Support collection and curation of stories, photos, and project highlights
    • Support with partner engagement & corporate giving program communications

    Requirements & Skills

    • Available to volunteer 2–3 hours per week
    • Experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or storytelling
    • Comfortable with Google Drive, Canva, and Mailchimp
    • Understanding of social media platforms, formats, and best practices
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Passion for renewable energy, global development, and community-centered storytelling
