    Volunteer Youth Mentor (Needed By 8/1/2026)

    About TTMES

    Take Trips MES is a non-profit organization who's mission is to reduce the recidivism rate of youth, especially youth of color 14-24 years of age. We will advocate tirelessly to provide adequate aftercare services to see a smooth transition for incarcerated or juvenile individuals as they return to society. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities through education, mentorship, workforce development, and community engagement. We provide programs that support youth in building the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to succeed academically, professionally, and personally while fostering positive, lasting community impact.

    • Flexible and adaptable to changing program needs
    • Demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and professionalism
    • Reliable access to Wi-Fi

    Responsibilities

    • Mentor and support youth participants enrolled in the Workforce Leadership Group (WLG), Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), and CUNY programs.
    • Encourage participants to complete assigned tasks and meet program expectations.
    • Build positive, supportive relationships while serving as a role model.
    • Monitor and accurately record attendance for assigned participants.
    • Provide guidance, motivation, and encouragement to help youth develop personally and professionally.
    • Communicate participant progress and concerns with program staff as needed.
    • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.
