    Description

Volunteer Grant Writer (Potential for Paid Opportunities)

NewBeginnings Charitable Trust (NCT) is seeking a few detail-oriented, committed, and enthusiastic grant writer-volunteers to support our fundraising and partnership-building efforts. We are looking for individuals who can contribute meaningfully to our mission to advance the rights and protections of women, girls, and children in vulnerable rural communities.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable nonprofit development experience—with the opportunity for future paid compensation based on performance and funding success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission (women, children, girls, education, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Human Trafficking, Child marriage, Vocational Skills, Micro-credits, Food Security/extreme poverty, drug prevention, etc)
    • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and funding applications
    • Collaborate with leadership to gather program data, budgets, and impact stories
    • Track grant deadlines and maintain a grant calendar
    • Assist with reporting requirements for awarded grants

    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing, editing, and research skills
    • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development (preferred but not required)
    • Ability to communicate impact clearly and persuasively
    • Organized, self-motivated, and deadline-driven
    • Passion for community service, housing stability, and social impact

    What You Will Gain

    • Real-world nonprofit experience
    • Opportunity to build a grant writing portfolio
    • Flexible, remote-friendly schedule
    • Letter of recommendation upon successful contributions and Certificate of Appreciation.
    • Potential for paid opportunities as funding is secured

    How to apply:

    • Tell us why you would like to join us and whether or not you have any prior experience.
    • Share any writing samples (if you have)
    • Applications without a cover letter/letter of interest will not be considered.
