Volunteer Community Outreach & Donations Ambassador

Help Bring Science to Life for Local Students!

The Youth Science Center in Hacienda Heights is seeking a personable and motivated volunteer to serve as a Community Outreach & Donations Ambassador. This role focuses on building relationships with local businesses and organizations to support our educational programs through donations, sponsorships, and community partnerships.

What You'll Do

• Visit local businesses, banks, grocery stores, hardware stores, community organizations, and other potential supporters to introduce the Youth Science Center and its mission.
• Ask businesses to consider donating supplies, gift cards, equipment, or financial contributions that will directly benefit our science programs and camps.
• Deliver informational materials and donation request letters provided by the Youth Science Center.
• Identify new opportunities for local partnerships and sponsorships.
• Keep staff informed about conversations and potential leads so we can follow up when needed.

Position Focus

This position focuses on creating face-to-face connections within the local community and encouraging businesses and organizations to support hands-on science education.

Who We're Looking For

• Friendly and comfortable talking with people.
• Enthusiastic about supporting education and STEM opportunities for children.
• Self-motivated and reliable.
• Experience in sales, customer service, networking, or community relations is helpful but not required.

Time Commitment

Flexible. You can volunteer a few hours each week or month based on your availability.
