    Description

Wheelable Wilderness Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to dismantling barriers to the outdoors. Based in Bowling Green, KY, we provide Kentucky’s first and only free Trackchair lending program and are currently developing the Nation's first fully all-inclusive campground. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of physical ability, can experience the restorative power of nature with dignity and independence.

We are in an exciting phase of growth and are seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a member of the board, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of inclusive recreation in Kentucky. We are looking for leaders who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help us build a world where the wilderness is truly "wheelable."

    Open Board Positions:

    1. Vice Chair / Chair-Elect: Support the Board Chair in leadership and governance. This individual will transition into the Chair role in the next term, ensuring organizational continuity and vision.
    2. Treasurer: Oversee the financial health of the organization. Ideal for someone with a background in accounting, finance, or nonprofit fiscal management.
    3. Assistant Treasurer: Support the Treasurer with financial reporting and maintaining strong internal controls. Great for a professional looking to gain nonprofit leadership experience.
    4. Assistant Secretary: Maintain the organization's "memory" by supporting meeting minutes, record-keeping, and board correspondence.
    5. At-Large: Fundraising Lead: Spearhead our resource development strategy. You will identify grant opportunities, manage donor relations, and lead fundraising events (non-officer role).
    6. At-Large: Programs & Participant Experience Lead: Focus on the "heart" of our mission. You will help refine our wheelchair lending process and ensure our future campground provides an unparalleled experience for participants.
