Advisory Opportunity: Former Homicide Detective, Major Crimes Investigator, or Prosecutor
We are a legal technology company developing an AI platform for crime victim advocacy organizations. We are seeking a retired or former homicide detective, major crimes investigator, or prosecutor to serve as an advisor.
Our platform is used by victim advocacy organizations. Victims securely enter their own information, documents, communications, and timelines. The AI assists advocates in organizing and understanding that information so they can better support victims and communicate effectively with law enforcement and legal professionals.
We are looking for an advisor who can help our development team understand how experienced investigators evaluate and organize information in complex criminal cases.
Specifically, we are seeking guidance on:
- How major crimes investigations are structured and evolve over time
- How investigators assess timelines, witness accounts, documents, digital evidence, and investigative leads
- What information is most useful to detectives during different stages of an investigation
- How victim advocates can organize information in ways that are helpful to investigators while remaining within their advocacy role
- How to distinguish facts, victim statements, supporting documentation, and investigative leads
- Common information gaps that slow investigations
- How AI can assist advocates by organizing victim-provided information without conducting investigations, making credibility determinations, or replacing professional judgment
The advisor will work with our product and engineering teams to help define the AI agent’s reasoning framework, workflows, and recommendations so the platform reflects real-world investigative practices while respecting the distinct roles of victims, advocates, investigators, and prosecutors.
This is a strategic advisory role focused on ensuring the technology supports effective victim advocacy and facilitates better information organization and collaboration across the criminal justice system.
