    Description

Community, Serve Us is seeking individuals passionate about civic engagement, community building, and social impact to spend 2–3 hours per week engaging with our beta platform and sharing feedback. In this role, you’ll test features, identify usability issues, and help ensure the experience is intuitive, engaging, and valuable for everyday citizens, nonprofits, service providers, and community leaders. Your insights will help shape a first-of-its-kind central hub for crowdsourcing solutions to humanitarian challenges.

We are especially interested in individuals from diverse educational, demographic, and life backgrounds of all ages. In addition to testers who reflect the broader U.S. population, we seek current or former employees/volunteers of social impact organizations and community leaders who are willing to share their valuable perspectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Test platform features across web and/or mobile environments.
    • Watch full episodes of our educational series and other videos.
    • Read articles and user generated content.
    • Post at least 2 thoughtful comments per week across our chat, idea boards and discussion forums.
    • Provide detailed, constructive feedback on usability, user experience, performance, and clarity
    • Identify bugs, inconsistencies, and user experience challenges
    • Participate in feedback sessions, surveys, and/or short interviews
    • Share suggestions to improve workflows for community organizing and campaign management
    • Test new feature releases during iterative development cycles

    Qualifications

    • Passion for solving humanitarian issues in a collaborative, non-partisan environment. (Our current pilot season is focused on the LA Wildfires & Other Disaster Prevention and Recovery; however, we may feature content about mental health, immigration, human trafficking, food justice, justice, and more.)
    • Comfortable navigating digital platforms and learning new tools.
    • Experience with crowdsourcing platforms and social media platforms.
    • Detail-oriented and able to communicate feedback clearly
    • Willing to commit 2-5 hours per week to test platform and document feedback
    • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding pre-launch features
    • Experience in nonprofit or civic leadership (preferred but not required)
