    Description

Community, Serve Us is seeking individuals passionate about civic engagement, community building, and social impact to spend 2–3 hours per week engaging with our beta platform and sharing feedback. This is a volunteer, unpaid position offering meaningful, hands-on experience and valuable career development opportunities in civic technology, product testing, and user experience design. In this role, you’ll test features, identify usability issues, and help ensure the experience is intuitive, engaging, and valuable for everyday citizens, nonprofits, service providers, and community leaders. Your insights will help shape a first-of-its-kind central hub for crowdsourcing solutions to humanitarian challenges.

We are especially interested in individuals from diverse educational, demographic, and life backgrounds of all ages. In addition to testers who reflect the broader U.S. population, we seek current or former employees/volunteers of social impact organizations and community leaders who are willing to share their valuable perspectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage users through platform forums, chats, idea boards, and social media channels
    • Participate in on-camera roundtable discussions and season episodes (if applicable)
    • Share authentic experiences, observations, and perspectives on mental health barriers
    • Encourage meaningful participation and idea-sharing among community members
    • Amplify platform content and conversations across personal social channels
    • Support a safe, inclusive, and solutions-oriented environment
    • Contribute to advocacy-driven content and community discussions
    • Help surface and validate key barriers to mental health care through lived experience

    Qualifications

    • Passion for solving humanitarian issues in a collaborative, non-partisan environment
    • Commitment to respectful, inclusive dialogue around sensitive topics including mental health
    • Comfortable navigating digital platforms and learning new tools.
    • Experience with crowdsourcing platforms and social media platforms.
    • Detail-oriented and able to communicate feedback clearly
    • Willing to commit 2-5 hours per week to test platform and document feedback
    • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding pre-launch features
    • Experience in nonprofit or civic leadership (preferred but not required)
