Gentiva Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Volunteer Musician to share the healing power of music with nursing home residents. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in hospice care by providing comfort, joy, and connection through music.
What We Need:
- A volunteer who is skilled at playing music (instrument or vocal performance) and has a passion for using music to lift spirits.
- Someone who can commit to regular visits to local nursing homes, bringing light and comfort to the residents during their time in hospice care.
- A representative of Gentiva Hospice, able to maintain a caring, professional demeanor while interacting with staff, residents, and families.
- A person who is reliable, empathetic, and able to offer a supportive presence in what can often be a difficult time for the residents and their families.
Your Role:
- Perform live music for residents in nursing homes, creating a peaceful and uplifting environment.
- Share in the joy of music with residents, providing emotional and mental support through song and melody.
- Represent Gentiva Hospice with kindness and respect while adhering to our standards of service and volunteer guidelines.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible schedule based on your availability (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly visits).
- Sessions typically last 1-2 hours.
Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable working with seniors and individuals in hospice care.
- Experience in music performance (instrumental or vocal).
- No formal music degree required—passion and dedication are key!
- Must pass a background check and complete volunteer training (provided by Gentiva Hospice).
