Aquarium Photo/Digital Media Volunteer

The photo and digital media volunteer works with education and animal husbandry staff to take digital photographs and videos of the Aquarium's marine life for use in signage, educational programs and social media. Photography volunteers also assist with editing, labeling and organizing the Exhibit's database of digital photographs and videos, which is a great way to learn how to identify a variety of marine life. Photography volunteers should have their own camera/cell phone and the basic skills required to take clear, high resolution photographs and videos of specimens through aquarium glass. opportunity also provides and the ability to identify specimens with staff assistance. Volunteers may use Smithsonian GoPro to capture underwater videos. The Aquarium Photo/digital media volunteer opportunity does not have a time restriction, but a weekly commitment is preferred.
