Details
Description
You can find more information and sign up to volunteer on our website https://www.sundancehippotherapy.com/
Welcome to Sundance Circle Hippotherapy, where we help our patients build strength, confidence, and possibility one stride at a time. Sundance Circle is a team of volunteers, staff, therapists and, of course, horses, based in Sumner, WA founded in 2017. We offer hippotherapy and outdoor therapy.
Volunteers play a key role in assisting the therapist and ensuring they’re able to meet patient goals. It's a fun and rewarding experience where you can help to make a remarkable impact in someone's life.
Volunteer Roles
Volunteers in all roles must be able to walk 2 miles without rest and safely lift 50 pounds. Our volunteer positions include:
- Sidewalker: walks alongside the horse, supporting the patient under the direction of the therapist.
- Horse Leader: Prepares the horse for sessions including grooming and tacking, then leads the horse during sessions.
- Barn Team: includes a variety of sub-roles such as stall cleaning, bring in and turn out, feeding, and cleaning the pastures.
