    Description

    York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for an Event Logistics Volunteer who is passionate about giving back to their community, enjoys making a tangible impact through organization and inventory support, and thrives in a collaborative, social work environment.

    The Event Logistics Volunteer is responsible for:

    • Creating and setting up signage to guide attendees and promote donation stations throughout the event
    • Packing donated school supplies into bags or boxes for distribution
    • Unloading incoming donations and supplies upon arrival
    • Loading packed donations and materials for transport at the end of the event
    • Assisting with general event setup and teardown as needed
    • Other tasks as required

    In-person (Milliken Mills Library, Markham)

    Shift:

    August 22, 2026 (12:30 – 4:30)

    Who We're Looking For:

    • Minimum age: 12
    • Able to independently arrive to work on time
    • Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn
    • Can commit to scheduled time of the shift
    • Fluency in English
    • Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks
