Description
Homework Club is looking for compassionate volunteers to assist elementary students build academic and socio-emotional skills.
- What you’ll do: You will support staff in assisting 2nd to 5th grade students complete their homework, arts and crafts, and outdoor exercise.
Duties (may include):
After attending the volunteer orientation, the following is expected
- Support students in completing their homework and arts & crafts
- Monitor outdoor activities
- Pass out materials and decorate the room
- Review and reinforce learning frequently – praise often
- Check in with the classroom lead regularly concerning learner progress
We ensure all our volunteers are well-prepared for success:
- Training: You will receive guidance and support from adult staff to free, comprehensive training in instruction and effective strategies for working with elementary school students.
- Requirements: Volunteers must be 14 or older and attend a one-time orientation.
