    Description

    Pikes Peak Children's Museum Verde Location Volunteer

    Join us at our newest location! Support our participants with hands-on learning activities in a one room concept.

    Key Responsibilities

    Guest Engagement & Play Facilitation

    • Welcome families and create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere
    • Engage children (ages 1–11) in interactive exhibits and imaginative play
    • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning

    Program Support

    • Assist staff with STEAM activities, storytime, and special programs
    • Help set up and break down activity stations and materials
    • Support children and caregivers during structured activities
    • Model participation through play, storytelling, and movement

    Operations & Maintenance

    • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
    • Sanitize toys, exhibits, and materials between sessions
    • Assist with crowd flow during timed entry sessions

    Events & Outreach

    • Support special events, mobile museum programming, and community outreach
    • Assist with check-in, activity facilitation, and guest support

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible scheduling (as little as 2 hours/month or ongoing shifts)
    • Weekday and weekend opportunities available

    Qualifications

    • Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic
    • Comfortable working with young children and families
    • Interest in education, early childhood development, or STEAM learning
    • Ability to work collaboratively and follow staff guidance
    • Willingness to actively participate in play-based activities

    Training & Support

    • Orientation and on-site training provided
    • Ongoing guidance from museum staff
    • Opportunities to shadow experienced volunteers
